The phone is one of the biggest killers we see in throwers’ careers and stability. Now obviously, there are good things with the phone. It ain’t all that bad. But the thing is, so many people look at their phones all day.

And even an hour a day looking at your phone could be harmful for you (especially as a throwing athlete) if you poorly look at your phone.

    Few suggestions:

    1. Most people use their dominant hand all day on their phones. Try to supplement 30 min of your free time on your phone with your non-dominant hand. Mixing in the opposite hand that you usually don’t have holding the phone will remove some of that tension that your dominant arm, neck & chest build through poor positions holding your phone.
    2. Most people look at their phone down at their waist. Their head drops down to look at the phone, causing the upper back and shoulders to round. Simple fix, start trying to hold your phone at eye level. It may look weird, but the constant neck-dropping to stare at the phone is no bueno.
    3. Supplement neck exercises every 3 hours if you have some pain in the traps or neck. If you look at your phone for 30 minutes at waist height, you should probably hit 1-5 min of neck exercises.
